ROCK’s Autism and Behavioural Service

Who is ROCK?

ROCK is the Ministry’s appointed Lead Agency for children’s mental health in Halton and has been providing high-quality service in our community for 40 years. As a part of ROCK, our autism team collaborates with our mental health staff to provide a holistic approach for clients that wraps around their needs.

At ROCK, we pride ourselves on having the client at the centre of our services. Individualized goals and programming are key to supporting learning and success. We offer trauma-informed services to ensure each of the youth we support are heard, feel valued, and are safe during their sessions. We do more than support the youth, we support the whole family in learning how to provide the best support to the youth when services end. We offer interpretation services to support all families.

Where We Serve

We have locations in Oakville, Burlington, and Milton. Depending on the focus of programming, we are able to provide services in one of our offices, at home, or in the community. All services are available for clients between the ages of birth to 21.

Our Programs

Our programs are clinically supervised by a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), and are eligible for purchase privately or with OAP Core Clinical Funding.

Programming is based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), and focuses on increasing the functional skills of our clients, including:

  • social/interpersonal;
  • play/leisure;
  • communication;
  • daily living (i.e. personal hygiene);
  • managing challenging behaviour;
  • self-regulation;
  • vocation (i.e. job-readiness skills);
  • school readiness;
  • problem solving; and
  • organization/planning.
